Chapter 1(one) shows you the events that happened after the First Light fell in Talpa Labor Ward. The First Light being the light pillar that hit Emmeline. It also introduces you to the different captains of each unit/corps in the Mobile Corps.
Chapter 1 - Talpa Labor Zone[]
Mission 1 - Thralls and the Labor Zone[]
You depart to the labor zone to investigate the damage so far from the First light that you encountered a while back as well as to resupply the Warrior Corps that are containing the invasion of Thralls in the area.
Percy bumps into you while on the train towards the labor zone. Percy then explains that she joined the corps after that light incident. She was also separated from her friend Phantom.
Percy cannot fight, though she is an awakened one, she cant use weapons.
*Percy is only good with tinkering with electronics, not with combat.
So she has been assigned to the intelligence department instead. She's not an official member yet but she's trying hard so that she could join in officially. She said she wouldn't know what to do if she lost her job so she has to do her best to keep food on her plate.
You helped the Warrior Corps and their captain Leocadio in Talpa Labor Ward. Leocadio comes up to you when a large Thrall engages you and helps you defeat it. After finally killing the large servant, Percy exclaims that they were only there to deliver the supplies and not help with the clearing of monsters. Leocadio asks what supplies, and eventually revealed that it was only the lunch for the Warrior Corps...
*It also seems that the legal drinking age in their world is more than 18 years old. Percy is 18 and was told not to drink by Leocadio, as she's too young.
*The Warrior Corps are stretched out due to the amount of never-ending work in the ward.
Leocadio also pointed out that Faust says the world is done for; That the extinction of humanity always happens. But as time had shown, humanity always finds a way to keep themselves alive. Leo explains that "Those people who'll survive this are people who WANT to survive. So whatever it is, find a reason to keep living."
Mission 2 - Rumors of a Woman[]
You are given a mission to find a missing woman in the labor ward. Sadie explains that the labor ward has been designated as a "danger zone" ever since the incident. Suddenly, Gerold and Lacco interrupts your conversation, saying that this mission is destined for him and forces Sadie to include him in the mission.
Upon boarding the train, you meet a Black Hooded Man, they didn't talk. The man passes through before Percy catches up to you. Percy then says the good news that she is now officially a member of Metal Technica after what you and Percy did in assisting the Warrior Corps before. You congratulates her.
*Percy begins calling you as "Senpai" as she just got enlisted as opposed to you joining the corps officially earlier than her.
Gerold comes up to the two of you and mistook Percy as your admirer. Percy ignores this and joins you on this mission. Percy then explains about the missing woman which was confirmed to have been seen inside the Danger Zone.
Gerold asks for information about the woman's looks and more. Percy says there's no information about looks and that all they knew was she's not a part of the Mobile Corps and questions why a civilian would be inside the danger zone.
Percy then asks you why Gerold is with you on this mission.
*Gerold one purpose in life is to protect every last woman in the world and says hes single. Percy mumbles that Gerold isnt really good with the ladies(they hate him).
*Hunters were once just free-roamers out in the nature, embracing the wildlife. But once the lights landed, everything in nature came crumbling down. They decided to join the corps to save what's left of nature.
Gerold then says that there were rumors of a ghost roaming the danger zone.
*Percy shows herself being scared of spooky ghosts.
Suddenly, hearing the rumors of the ghost, the Black hooded man came back to you and ask for all the information you know about the ghost but only to get disappointed that "its a cute ghost" is the only info Gerold can give. The black hooded man leaves you be.
Player arrives in the zone and immediately search the danger zone for the missing woman.
Gerold stops you and Percy as his hunter instincts tells him a horde of servants are just up ahead. You fights the servants on their way. You clears the area and expands the search area for the missing woman.
Gerold then spots a church and suggests that it might be a good place to look for that woman and starts roleplaying the "rescue attempt".
While searching the church area, you and Percy gets a flash of light that seemed like Emmeline's figure. Percy immediately remembers the ghost rumors and starts to panic and pushes you to immediately leave.
While finishing the search, you notices a woman and Gerold immediately runs over to her. It seems that this was the missing woman and you decides to report it to Sadie, which confirms that it is the missing woman. The woman introduces herself to you and calls herself Fanie(Stefanie, Stef in global). The black hooded man approaches you and warns you of incoming servants. Forcing you to defend the woman.
Once the battle is done the black hooded man leaves as it seems that the woman was not his priority.
Fanie then explains that the lights that hit the Talpa Labor Ward was a punishment to the people in the ward. She said she kept hearing this rumor and decided to go somewhere by herself, alone. She was also kicked out from the capital by the Assembly. She went back to the labor zone as if waiting for the light to come and destroy the area again, taking herself out in the destruction.
You, Percy and Gerold all try and convinced that Fanie was not useless or unwanted. Fanie decides to go back to the capital and give life a second chance.
You return from the mission and was informed by Sadie that the girl they saved; has started to work at the shop in the orders of Gerold. She is now the shopkeeper in Metal Technica.
Mission 3 - The Flames that Never Die[]
You are tasked to investigate sightings of Frieren Flames in the Labor Ward with the Priest Corps. Sadie explains what a Frieren Flame is.
*Frieren flames are the flames that never burn out, they emit a very bright light. They are the remnants of a "Light" striking an area. The name was coined by Faust. Effects on human exposure are currently unknown.
Percy meets you on the train again. She'll be with you for this mission, again, and she reiterates that she's not stalking you(and almost inadvertently confesses her "liking" towards you). She talks about how the Priest Corps seems to be getting overworked while their captain Ignaz slacks around.
Ignaz hears this and comes up to both you, surprising both of you. He isn't mad however, but he asks you to keep an eye on his corps members and make sure that they don't do any mischief.
*Explaining that the priest corps are usually depressed and self-depreciating of themselves. Once they sink into depression, they're one step away from madness...
You arrive at the location and begin searching for the flames. Sadie informs you that there are Thralls that appeared and have to change your rendezvous area for the Priests. Ignaz says it stays the same as he thinks the Priest corps could handle it(and also to bring them back in the "right track").
You continue on while fighting the Thralls and eventually meet up with Priest Corps. Ignaz informs that Sadie shouldn't be worried about them, but was told that if she had any grievances, she is free to tell Ignaz.
You proceed to where the indicated location of the Frieren Flames are. Once the a priest corps member saw the flames, they become mad and started to babble about humanity being done for. They slowly started to fight fellow Corps members and attack you. Ignaz gives you full permission to engage them. You deal with them with ease.
After the fight, Ignaz comes to you and tells you to keep "those visions" to yourself.
*You were at ground zero when the First Light fell, confirming that you are indeed the guy who saw and fought Emmeline's Thrall form.
Ignaz explains that a lot of people, not only the Priest Corps, thought that the lights were judgement from heaven. The priest corps members that attacked you might have been too afraid of the Light and decided to "bring judgement" to you humans. Ignaz does not believe in the "judgement from heaven" belief, but instead calls out that its better for a "god" to guide people rather than punish them every time they sinned.
*The church believes that we should live in peace and tranquility. Until the time of prophecy comes.
*Ignaz seems to be afraid of Laurent.
*He also says he likes old things in this mission.
Mission 4 - Beef with the Chevaliers[]
You are tasked to help with the clean up a large number of thralls in the Labor Zone. You're advised to meet up with the Chevaliers and the Knight Corps before proceeding to restoring order in the area.
*Chevaliers do not like the Mobile Corps, they serve directly under the emperor to protect the Empire.
Sadie doesn't agree working with them but Faust forced her so he can have "more pawns" to play with.
Percy meets up with you in the train.
*Chevaliers are for the nobles, by the nobles. The Assembly also has them under their reigns.
*The Assembly are all made up of Nobles, old people usually, that are tasked to run the country.
*Knight Corps is a newly formed Corps, formed after the First Light fell. Rumors has it that the Assembly forced Metal Technica and the Chevaliers to make the corps or that the captain of the Knight Corps is actually a spy from the Chevaliers.
Percy feels sad that Knight Corps Captain Laurent gets these kinds of rumors on top of getting heat for failing to protect Emmeline.
You arrive at the mission area and meet up with both the Knight Corps and the Chevaliers, along with Laurent.
*Laurent serves as the bridge between the Knight Corps and the Chevaliers, but she's having a hard time doing that.
You begin your "restoration" mission(More on exterminating the thralls in the area).
*Percy shows her hate towards the Chevaliers.
You suddenly come across another Frieren Flame in the area. The Chevaliers are looking into it and orders everyone else to fall back other than the Chevaliers themselves.
Laurent comes in and stops everyone from retreating. Thralls suddenly approaches the area and you quickly disposed them.
*Chevaliers are jealous of the Awakened Ones. They're scared that someone else would take their place as the guardians of the empire.
*Mobile Corps members hate the Chevaliers for the reason that most corps members are used to being the ones who live in third-world situations in the aristocracy, thus harboring hate for the nobles, which makes up 100% of the Chevaliers.
*Laurent stays as the Knight Corps captain and the commander of the Chevaliers as she believes that in times like this, everyone should unite against a common enemy. She also has the drive to do so(after failing to protect Emmeline), and that drive is to find Emmeline.
Mission 5 - The Complaisant and The Free[]
You are given a mission to help the Gunner Corps in recon. You'll be working with Captain Yasmin.
Captain Yasmin was late in meeting up with you in HQ, but she radioed Sadie in to tell her that the rendezvous point is now out in the field.
Percy gives you a rundown of things in the train:
*Gunners deal with recon and intel out in the field, they're always first in the scene.
*Yasmin brings her corps members out for camping and vacations from time to time. She knows how to have fun and everyone in the corps look up to her.
*She has a fan club.
*More people are getting awakened ever since you awakened. She recalls wanting to group them all up, hoping to see Phantom once again. She hasn't seen her since they were separated after the First Light fell.
You arrive in the area and proceed to the coordinates where Yasmin is. Yasmin contacts you and Percy saying that she's currently on pursuit of a Thrall. Sadie asks that Yasmin stops and regroups first, but she insists that the recruits follow her instead as she doesn't have any other chance to take the Thrall out if she waited. You proceed to her location.
While on the way, you fought ambushes of Thralls, while Yasmin changes the rendezvous point again. It seems like the Gunner Corps are also engaged in combat as Sadie sees Thrall signatures dropping in the area.
You arrive in a ruined structure where the coordinates were. Percy notices large scratch marks on the floor while unbeknownst to her, a Thrall was stalking her and attacks her. The Thrall failed to hit her as it was hit by a gunshot from Yasmin who was silently waiting.
After meeting with Yasmin, Sadie contacts your group and tells you to retreat as there is a large Thrall in the area. The Warrior corps were tasked to take it on. Yasmin refused to retreat and says she follows what she feels. Sadie disagrees and Faust interrupts the transmission to allow Yasmin to engage it. Sadie was forced to accept and closes the transmission.
You, along with Yasmin, engages the large Thrall and defeats it. Sadie contacts Yasmin and reassures her that although she disagrees with how Yasmin acts, she believes in her abilities. Yasmin accepts this compliment and returns it back, saying Sadie is a vital asset in everyone's operations. You all return to base afterwards.
Mission 6 - The Burden of the Last Mageborn[]
You are given a mission to find a missing person, this time its unusual. You have to find the Wizard Corps Captain Jürgen, he was last seen inbound to the danger zone.
Percy briefs you in the train:
*Jürgen is the strongest mage in the capital. He also hates the world.
*The Wizards are a secretive group. Their main purpose is to investigate the "Light" in the perspective of magic.
You arrive at the mission area. Sadie briefs you about the mission again but was interrupted as Ewald took her headset away by force.
Ewald tells you that you inform him immediately as soon as you find Jürgen and if you find any suspicious-looking papers, he asks that you don't tamper any of the papers if found. You continue on with the mission.
You got a reading that Jürgen is nearby and you continue to his location while fighting off a group of thralls. Sadie dispatches a group to help cleanup the Thralls as you continue to the location where Jürgen was last seen.
You enter a ruined building where Jürgen was last seen. You and Percy finds a room full of thrashed books and a suspicious paper that reads:
*Wizards' power is determined by their bloodline(parents, when born).
The paper lit up before Percy could finish reading it and the entire room of books and papers were also engulfed in flames. You and Percy were unhurt as it seems that the one who did this was Jürgen.
Jürgen comes up to both of you asking what you were doing there. You explained that you were searching for him, and he said that you shouldn't have bothered as when he was finished doing his job there, he would come back.
Ewald then suddenly comes up in communications with the group and asks if you found Jürgen and the papers. Ewald says that the papers are part of an old mage research and that Jürgen knows this. Jürgen says he burnt it and angered Ewald.
*The Chevaliers seems to have done something with the Wizards from before.
A thrall suddenly appears and you defeat it.
After the fight, Jürgen calls out Leocadio, who seems to have been watching everything with a member of the Wizard corps with him. Leocadio says that the Professor(Faust) has called in an emergency meeting.
*Leo knows what happened to Jürgen and the Wizards before but didn't explain in detail.
*Jürgen accepts that he needs to look over the Wizard corps(accepting the captain roll) and leaves the area after being convinced by Leo.
The wizard corps member picks up a scrap of paper and says that it was about human experiments from the past, experiments that tried to strengthen a mage's power and it was conducted on children and captured mages. Leocadio adds that it was the work of the previous generation of Chevaliers, understanding that Jürgen may have burnt those papers to avoid it from falling into the wrong hands.
You returned to base along with the 6 captains and were briefed by Faust that the luminance in the impact site of the First Light seems to be increasing again and the Thrall in the area are becoming more active. He cant say for certain if it's going to be the same event as the First Light impacting before but it was better to be prepared.
Faust explains that if a dangerous Thrall were to appear, they might have to use something called "Falsch Bindings". A prototype technology capable of temporarily locking up a powerful thrall in a secure and segregated place. if they were to dispose of the thrall, they need to enter the imprisonment and destroy it while inside.
He also explains that the Spec Ops team are already training to how it would be deployed.
Mission 7 - Falsch Bindings[]
You are tasked to investigate the sudden increase of luminance in the danger zone, and was allowed to deployed the new "Falsch Bindings" if needed.
Percy briefs you on the train:
*Percy is an engineer/tinkerer before joining Metal Technica.
*Seems like on this day, the Mobile Corps was founded(not Metal Technica). They're having an anniversary banquet once the operation ends.
When you arrive in the mission area, Sadie briefs you with the mission again.
*The Falsch Bindings uses ancient technology that allows the creation of an alternate dimension. The dimension is referred to, by Faust, as the "Fölsing/Falsch Void/Space".
The operation has 2 phases, first clear out the area of any Thrall then secondly, Spec Ops deploys the Falsch Bindings. You are tasked to help with the first phase.
*You're assigned as the "Raider Unit" which helps other units(corps) in clearing out nearby Thrall.
*Sadie seems to care a lot about the Mobile Corps.
You start the mission by rendezvousing with the captains and begin the cleanup operations with all of the Corps.
*Leo really likes the after-mission drinking and eating parties.
*After working with the Knights corps, they realized that the Thralls sometimes retreats and avoid combat, as if something is calling out to it.
*Ignaz suggested that wherever they're amassing, it could probably the location of their target.
After a few fights, Sadie shares the latest intel. Faust assumes that the Thrall are converging on where the First Light originally hit, and are trying to achieve some sort of "greater form". The Hunter Corps begin trying to track down the target.
Meanwhile, Yasmin says that the abnormal actions of the Thrall may cause an explosion instead, like the one seen when the First Light fell. Sadie then informs that Gerold did not find anything in the suspected target location, not even a single Thrall. Suspecting it was a ruse and that their target might be hiding in plain sight after all.
*The vision of Emmeline pops up to you again.
*The light transforms any living organism near it, both fauna and flora, into some sort of mutated form. They can take the form anything normal looking like a flower or a bird .
Gerold and Yasmin found the target, and began engaging it. They requested help from Leo. The Wizards and Jürgen also rushed to their assistance while waiting for Spec Ops to get the prototype out. The Knights form a perimeter while the priests are gathered into one location to assist. You are tasked to help out the captains in dealing with the target.
You head to the designated area and see that the Spec Ops team have already deployed the prototype Falsch Bindings. It seems that the area has already been cleared and everyone else were ordered to withdraw or stand down.
You suddenly saw another vision of Emmeline and suddenly there's a huge spike in luminance again. Leocadio and you enter the alternate dimension to defeat the trapped Thrall in order for the Bindings to be available for use again if another Thrall comes out again.
Mission 8 - Into the Void[]
You head into battle to clear destroy the thrall trapped in the Falsch Bindings. You finish the battle with Leo and got back out of the Falsch Bindings. Sadie and Percy greets you and are both glad that you came back alive.
The spec ops team however, aren't pleased with how Leo handled this. It seems that they don't trust the corps to do their work.
Before heading back, you hear someone saying "Do you really think this is over?".
Mission 9 - The Reason Why We Fight[]
That someone who spoke was Phantom, it seems that you cant see him but you know its him and you feel his presence.
Phantom tells you that you've "awakened" and gained the ability to fight and that this is just the beginning. He then tells you that the Thrall you just beat was not the cause of the problem, it was Emmeline who you see in your visions.
Suddenly, another large Thrall appeared in the area.
*Leocadio recalls that the Thrall that just appeared is the same Thrall that got away during the Great Fire the destroyed the Old Capital.
*As Leocadio was also in ground zero of the First Light impact, he can also hear/feel Phantom talking.
Both you and Leocadio engaged the large Thrall. During the intense battle, the large Thrall blocked an attack from Leocadio's blade. The force of the two colliding seemed to break the ground beneath and around the large Thrall. Leocadio and you both fell down the ground and told you that whatever happens, he'll win. You were knocked unconscious afterwards.
You wake up in Faust's laboratory and were greeted by Percy who again, was happy that you are alive and okay. Faust then proceeds to fill you in on what happened.
Because of the caving of the ground, they found out an old mine underground. As for Leocadio, he's missing along with the Thrall that you were fighting. Though, it seems that Leocadio was alive and well before he went missing, as he told the Corps to not follow him.
*Leocadio believes that the awakened ones should become a strong force. Whatever happens to him, he wants the next generation to be prepared to protect humanity. He believes that there's a future for the next generation and he's willing to sacrifice his life for it.
*Faust explains that he and Leocadio are doing the same thing, but in their own ways. Faust vows to improve and expand the Mobile Corps to prove to humanity that they need the Corps to survive. Telling those who have given up on this world to fight till the very last one for the survival of humanity.
